What a summer it has been. A lot has changed in my art journey, starting with my husbands accident, closing Karen’s Place and listing our commercial building with a realtor. I am now in the process of stream lining my life and business.

For the last two months I have been getting my house ready for my husband. He will be using a walker and subsequent recovery is pretty complicated. To make it easier for him, we had to add a ramp and raise our bedroom floor to meet the rest of the house. I realized that his recovery is going to take several months. so it was time to do something we had been talking about for the last two years. Creating my art studio at home! Tomorrow my new she-shed will be arriving….Yes! It is a 10′ x 16′ mini barn. The peak is 11′ high so I can install my beautiful chandelier from Karen’s Place.

To get ready we had to create a level pad for it’s permanent home. Here are some pictures of the little loader scooping up the gravel and spreading it around to make it smooth. We had a double bonus because they brought enough gravel to redo our driveway too

For now, I will bring home all my book shelves and work tables to store in the new shed. It will stay a storage shed until next spring. Then we will finish the inside adding insulation and electricity. This will be my ultimate she-shed art studio. Meantime I am using our 11′ x 11′ guest room as my art room. Here are pictures of this work in progress room. I couldn’t help myself I had to hang my little white flower chandelier in my new space. One of the items on my bucket list was a wall mounted adjustable tv holder. I bought this one from Bozzuto’s Furniture, here in Shoshone. It was my birthday present to myself last week. It took me three days to install, but it was worth it.

I am so excited about my new direction and am looking forward to sharing with you how it changes each step of the way. Even though It is bittersweet to close Karen’s Place, it is very excited to be able to create at home again with my river view. Just getting up in the morning is inspiring!!!
