On my coffee break!

Update on my Etsy site-It’s at the Emporium. Last December my sister and I were working on our Etsy site called “Cottage Farm Store”. and concluded that it was time for me to take over this site myself. She has a few sites on Etsy and her “BackroomBookStore” has grown to the point that she only has time to take care of this site. She started my site about three years ago and has been the administrator. She did everything from listing my items to shipping. Her efforts are the reason my shop has grown and flourished to this point. Now that my life has slowed down I do have more time to work on my Etsy site. Here is what I did.

I quickly renamed it to “Itsattheemporium” after one of my favorite movies of all time ” Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium”

The thing I loved about this movie was the theme of unlimited imagination.  Anyway, my dream for this site is a combination of my art quilts and other crafted items.  Those who know me well is that my creativity never shuts off. So like the movi,e I have unlimited imagination. I now realize that one of the things I miss about “Karen’s Place” was the ability to make and sell items on any given day.  For five wonderful years, it was a great place to create. Now I am realizing how much I miss creating and selling.

it is a big learning curve to run an Etsy site successfully. You have to strategize differently than in a brick-and-mortar business. My first strategy was to create items and then bring them to the quilt groups I attend each month.  Maybe these ladies could serve as a kind of litmus test. Helping me decide if I am on the right track for items to post.  It worked great until the ladies in these groups bought most of my inventory.  That was pretty exciting.  Right away it became apparent that I needed to make extra inventory just for the Etsy site. Lol.

Here is where I need help from you all. It would be wonderful if you would go to my Etsy shop and favorite it to help me build my listing on Etsy. Go to Etsy and type in “ItsAtTheEmporium”, this should take you right to my shop.

Thanks for all your help through the years and hope to inspire you to create more each day….K
