All of you know that I have been waiting patiently for my new art shed. Well maybe not so patiently, if you know me well. Tuesday morning about and hour before the shed was supposed to arrive the guys were still pounding down the gravel to get the pad ready. Pretty soon here it came, down the road from the highway. At the time I was thinking that I can’t believe I am going to have this wonderful space. It came on a very unique trailer pulled by a semitruck. I love this picture of the truck parked next to our street sign, North Florence.

Then driver backed the trailer into the landing pad. Here is the fun part. The driver got out of his truck with a little remote control and proceeded to raise, tilt, reposition in about every position you could think of. It was amazing what he and that trailer could do.

After he had it lowered almost to the ground he asked me if it was centered the way I wanted it. I thought maybe six more inches to the left. He pushed a button and it moved six inches exactly and set it on the ground. It was the perfect size for it’s new home. This whole process took only about 30 minutes which included leveling the shed.

The view from the inside is going to be spectacular. I am already dreaming of what the garden will be when I remodel it next spring. Believe it or not there are flowers in there somewhere. At least it is green. What do you think, maybe atrium doors in front? My husband just shook his head and rolled his eyes….. My job now is to get it sealed so I can bring my fabric and such to live there.

Now here is the rest of the story…. Just as the truck and trailer arrived, my husband Ray hobbled out with his walker into the garden where I had a chair set for him to watch the floor show. Ray who is a semitruck driver himself, was a little concerned how the driver was going to back up several times to position the she shed. The street isn’t very wide and there is a big stack of wood in our neighbors yard across from the pad. While he was out in the garden being amazed with what this hydraulic trailer could do, his physical therapist, Dillon showed up and joined him. At the same time the mail lady pulled up in front of the semitruck to deliver the mail and Jet the dog escaped from the back yard and started to run around like crazy dog. Then to my shock, Ray and the therapist decided to walk down the road next to this awesome trailer. I think they were secretly thinking the driver would let them try the remote control. Dillion the therapist said it was Rays physical therapy for the day. As usual it was pure pandemonium!

It was worth it though. After the spectators were gone, I realized for the first time, this is my own private space. I’m really retired and home! I am definitely going to paint the picture of view looking through the arbor!
