Well Mery Christmas everyone! The season to be creative. Things are going right along at the shop and at home. I spent alot of time this season to decorate at home and the shop. Each night when I get home from the I turn on three christmas trees and all the lights I strung across the top of my reference library book shelf. It is truly magical. Mean time for the last three Sunday’s my kitchen has been quite the little bakery. Of course I made quite a few batches of my world famous tripple espresso brownies and some decorated sugar ones too. Tonight I am baking some gingerbread cookies. Good thing I made two batches of the dough because the first one I overbaked. My hubby gets those because he likes well done cookies. HaHa. Here is a picture of how magical the outside of the shop looks this year.

At the shop I worked on some great chritstmas tree ornaments with my accuquilt cutter. With some heat n bond, fabric, glue, beads and glitter they came out awesome. I must of made 25 of them for family and friends. I love the ones I made out of Seahawk Fabric for some very special fanatic fans. Glitter was everywhere for a while!

Today I worked on what I call my Scribble Tree wall hanging. I made two of them for gifts this year. I started by drawing out a simple line on a piece of parchment paper.

Next I traced it onto the background fabric in pencil. Then cut a piece of batting the same size as the background fabric and attached to the wrong side of the fabric. I used 1/8″ dark green ribbon to make scribbled tree designand sew thing through the two layers to attach it to the fabric.

I found out that it was alot easier to sew using my clear zigzag applique foot especially on the curvy parts.

Then I cut out a multitude of small and medium circles using my accuquilt circle die. Before I cut them out I ironed heat and bond lite to the back of all of the fabrics. Now it is time to place all those cirlces around your scribbled ribbon line. Place a star at the top and then iron everything on. The stem was made and sewn on. Cut your backing fabric the same size as the front section and make a sandwich. Then I used one of my favorite free motion designs to quilt and attach all those circles. Yes I quilted it before I attached the little red strip. I added the back and then the green binding.

Lastly I added the gold bobbles and rhinestones to add some glitz. I loved how it came out….

I made another tree and decorated it with stars and circles using the two accuquilt dies. I like it alot too!

This art project has been fun and very creative this week. Well I better get back to the drawing board to design another kit. Let me know how you liked these two little 13″ x 21″ wall hangings. I just realized how great this little tree fits on Pat’s quilt hangers available in the shop. I used the 18″ for this project. Hangers come in 18″ for $15.00, 24″ for $18.00 and 36″ for $23.00. They are so cool! Merry Christmas!!!!!
