Getting my creativity back.  Just wanted to let you know that I am now past my recovery time for my knee.  Of course it will take more time to get over some of the stiffness and stuff.  So I am back creating in my studio on a regular basis.  I think just doing my art work helps me to heal.  This morning when I left the house to open the studio I found this awesome feather with dew drops on it.  I thought you would enjoy it.  It was pristine just laying in my driveway. Could be a future art project.  For the last two weeks I have been busy working on the classes for the next three months. If you received the July newsletter you already know that  our theme is “Christmas in July”.  Three of our seven classes will be about Christmas.  One is called “All The Stocking In A Row” and today I finished the class sample.  It is all machined appliqued and features Laurel Birch fabric.  When you take the class everything will be cut out and in your kit ready to sew. Here is a shot of the back. The star buttons were made out of shrinky dink.  I  love how they came out. My mom had made some star buttons out of ceramic several years ago and I inherited them when I found her button box and they are so folksy decided to copy them.  Literally I drew around them to make the pattern.  It was such a pleasure to quilt this wallhanging on my quilting machine, so glad I took the plunge and purchased it.  This next week I will be working on the second wall hanging class “Home for the Holidays” featuring a hand painted block as a starting point. More on that later…..K
