Fiber Wednesday-Starting Wednesday August 1st you will start getting a new series of posts.  The new series will be called “Fiber Wednesday”.   As you know my creative ideas come from a lot of different experiences in my life.  Sometimes it is a book or maybe nature or it is a person who came into the art studio that day.  Hopefully it will inspire you to move forward with your art work or just have a moment each week to see something different. My goal here is to stretch myself as an artist and share about it.  My aunt taught me along time ago how to look at the world creatively.    She was making miniature doll houses at the time and all the furnishings had to be in scale. I remember asking her how she found pieces to make them in the right scale? One simple example was using a toothpaste cap for a lampshade. Her response was “Well I look at things thru miniature eyes”. Her answer impacted my life.   Later in my life when I really started to grow as an artist, was when I learned to view the world with an artist eyes.  For instance I am watching a golf game and I am noticing the shape of the greens, sand and water as they play around the course.  How the different colors of the grasses creates the definitions to give you a better sense of the big picture.  Or we are driving in the car and I notice the shape of the mountains and then the hills in front the mountains.  You could almost say that watching scenery from the car is vital to learning perspective. Or one of my customers shows me her latest creation and I realize how cool her color scheme is.  So we will see what I come up with……and in the end hopefully you will be inspired.
