Art studio reimagined

Yesterday was so exciting – New art space! Last week my hubby and I decided it was time for a second art shed. It seems like I was tripping over things regularly in my current art studio here in the house. Then when I knocked over a whole berry smoothy onto my desk, chair and carpet, well that was the final straw.

Here is my old art room.

I know it looks like I am a hoarder. LOL. The thing is though, It takes a lot of stuff to create my art quilts and then take pictures for my blog, Etsy, and marketing purposes. When all the electrical is on, the computer, printer, television, and iron, I have to open the window to cool it down.

Front entryway to my house.

It seems like the more art quilts I create the more space I need. Last month I expanded out to my front entry. As you can see there is very little space for Ray to get out the front door with his walker. Where Jet the dog is sitting in this picture is the ironing board spot. It was time for a change.

New landing space for the she sheds!

We looked around our property and this was the only level spot without trees and decided to put the new and old shed up next to the house.

Old shed location

As you can see in this picture how far away from the house the first she shed was located. Great during the fall but not so wonderful during the winter. Located next to the road was a problem as the plows stacked up snow and ice and blocked the entryway. It was time to relocate the old she shed.

Finally a good space replacing my commercial building

Yesterday the mover brought the new she shed and set it into place next to the front of my house. Then for an extra fee, they moved the old shed and placed it next to the new she shed. Now I a workable spaces totaling 10 X 16 ft. The first shed will be my workshop and the second shed will be the fabric and a very small classroom. The plan is to get the inside finished with the wiring insulation and heat by this winter. Meantime I will use it as soon as the weather warms up. Roseanne, we don’t have to go to the deep freeze for our projects anymore. Laurie and Janet, we now have our painting spot!

So Ladies give me a call and come for a tour…..
