I am so excited because today there are a couple of new projects going on in my art studio. A couple of days ago I was having a real creative block and could not figure out how to put the border on my new art quilt called “A Snapshot of My World-Living in a Birdcage”. this art quilt will be my first self portrait quilt. Anyway it came to me that it is an image of where my artwork has evolved as of today and realizing that it will certainly change tomorrow, really it is just a moment out of time. I decided to make the border look like an old cut out photograph with the black picture mounts in each corner as if it is mounted in an old scrapbook. Now is the fun stuff. What design do I want to use to quilt the background with? It looks like it might involve a tape measure twisting around. We will see. The other project will be fused fabrics. I went out to Backporch Fabrics and bought another Teflon ironing sheet so that I can put one on the top and bottom for the fusing process. It will be a great experiment with fabric, adhesives, thread and found objects to create color and texture, love those kind of experiments…. Enough of all that it is time to CREATE!
