Last month when I was checking some of my quilting feeds on the internet I came across this panel. I fell in love with it right away. I love steampunk stuff. I wanted to have her hanging in my sewing room. I ordered the fabric.
There were several other fabrics in this collection but I like these ones best. They arrived last Thursday.
The red shadowplay fabric came from my she shed. The cool thing about these sewing motif fabrics, is that they will work great in some of my other projects in the future.
This red border really set off the pin cushion on her head and her red shoes.
I loved this bright yellow tape measure fabric and the red border was a perfect compliment to it. Next was the white and black border. Featuring the pincushions on top were a must for this piece.
Using glide thread to quilt the wall hanging gave it that little extra touch. To finish the quilt I choose a thin black-faced border.
The back fabric with all the thread spools needed some company. So I pieced my extra fabric from the borders, and it all came together for that steampunk look.
If you are interested in purchasing the panel or complimentary fabric, let me know. The “She Who Sews” panel is 24″ x 44″ and it is $10.00 a panel. The other fabrics are going to be $11.00 a yard.
The next step is to find wall space in my art room to hang it up.
What a great panel – I love what you did with it!! Keep up the good work and inspiration!!
Awesome panel Karen….

Karen – you are so creative- nothing is “blah” after you have worked with it
Well that is quite cute and different! What a fun addition to your sewing room.
Karen talent strikes again😁. Really like the back fabric. So many ways to use.
I would like the kit.
You are such a wonderful artist.
