Here are a few of my latest Art Quilt creations. First up is “Stella’s Tulips” which I painted last summer in my continued journey to learn how to do portraits on fabrics. Her eyes are my favorite. I had a hard time giving her a name and when I went to Seattle last August my son Tony named her.
Next one is called “Beached-Living the Dream”. My husband and I have always been in love with the Oregon coast and try to visit there often. So in the winter months when we don’t go I painted this quilt to remind me of the smell of the ocean, the soft breezes and the warm sand. This quilt is all about our future retirement lifestyle. The boat beached on the sand and the two chairs with the drinks in a metal bucket just watching the ocean, lighthouse and birds, well what more is there!
The third quilt is called “Summer Breeze”. I love sitting outside in my backyard watching the big trees. We have several surrounding our back yard next to the river. Last year my husband surprised me with a new bike. So this quilt represents my quilts moving in the breeze, my passion for gardening and of course the perfect gift of the bike. The wood border represents the how grounded I feel living by the river with these trees.
