Fall-My time of the Year! This has been the weirdest weather this year. It has been so cool at night that my tiny garden is struggling to produce. My little pocket garden only has two cherry tomato plants and a zucchini and a yellow crook neck. So far I have only harvested three small zucchinis and maybe four crooknecks. The tomatoes are loaded but still green and ripening maybe 4 little ones a day.

Things are going well here at the art studio. Each day I get closer to being more organized. On my birthday I took everything out of the shed and rearranged my tables. The flow is working better now. Last year I set a goal of creating a collection of work. My goal was to create 20 art quilts. Along the way, I volunteered to do a presentation for the Desert Sage Quilt guild in September. I had a few painted tops left from Karen’s Place, they were hanging there on the walls. Each one in various stages. It was a good start, but my personal challenge to myself was creating new work. To this date, I have completed 24 art quilts! I did give one of them away last month as a gift. It has been so gratifying working on this body of work.

Part of my new collection is the “Emma Series”. I just finished one called “Visit from Cousin Ella”, which is my Halloween quilt for this year. Once a year I paint a new Halloween quilt. Here is a sneak preview of Ella.

I am in the middle of painting another art quilt in this series. It is called “Astrid from the North”. She is on her way to visit her cousin Emma for Christmas. It has been a lot of fun designing this art quilt.

On another note, my husband started having trouble with his computer. We took it down to our computer doctor, Stephenson’s in Twin Falls. Of course, it was toast and after much discussion, it was decided to give Ray my desktop computer and purchase a new one for my art business. We took the desktop to Brian, our wonderful fixer a week ago Friday to transfer my art stuff from my old to new. It is taking longer than I anticipated, thank goodness I have a surface computer for traveling.

This computer didn’t have any of my design programs installed and not enough memory to install them. No adobe photoshop just a paint 3d. What a trip learning to use it for designing. Meantime while moving my old printer from the house to the she shed, it stopped working. So after consulting with Pat Dailey I purchased an Epson tank printer. ( Yes Elaine, the same one you just bought). Very happy with it and can’t wait to get my new computer back and marry them together. LOL

Ok everyone, mark your calendars for the Desert Sage Quilt Guild meeting on Thursday, September 22 @ 10 am. They meet at the American Legion Hall in Twin Falls. You don’t have to be a member to attend. I would love to show you my collection of artwork.

This is literally a tote of one year worth of art quilts. Years ago, I remember participating in an art show in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. One of the ceramic vendors commented how envious she was of my art quilt booth. It took about five hours to set up her booth with all the tables and shelves she had to assemble. Mine took one hour.

See you on Thursday!
