20151112_134041(1)Still life art in Seattle. Some of you already know that I have been vacationing for the last two weeks. It has been alot of fun visiting with my family here. At last count I believe there are about 25 of them living here so it takes two weeks just to see everyone. Today I took a break and walked up to the local thrift store about 3 blocks away and took some great art pictures. 20151112_130107(1) One of my favourite colors this time of the year is red with its varying shades from deep maroon to bright pink. The texture is incredible too as the leaves are aging and falling off the trees. Some of the reds along my path looked like feathers attached to stems. 20151112_130453(1)It would be great to paint them on fabrics and use different elements adding texture to them. Isn’t it great our world is so full of glorious colors and shapes. That is why I will probably never run out of ideas to paint. 20151112_130359(1)20151112_130135(1) Check out the bamboo isn’t it great? While on Whitbey Island my sister and I were admiring the fall colors and came upon this scene. We stopped and turned around to take pictures. Since I am facinated with trees this year there is alot of potential there. 20151106_155657(1)20151106_155731(1) Notice how the leaves have more life to them under the hedge because they are still wet and shiney as opposed to the ones along the tree lined road. Another great photo moment was at Anacortes where this boat was in dry dock. They were getting ready to cut it in half and had sixty feet to it.20151106_152519(1)20151106_153149(1) I sent the picture of the boat and dock to my husband and he is using it for his wallpaper on his comupter. Living the life as an artist is very spectacular right now and I can’t wait to fly home next monday and hang out in my art studio…..Karen
