Happy Holidays everyone! This year I decided that my theme for Christmas would be “A Very Natural Christmas”. In years past I would be decorating the art studio and very little of it at home, but as you know my home is the main event now. I wanted to share with you what I created.

While unpacking my red bows Jet the dog was hanging with me and I stuck one on his collar. As you can se he gave me one of those “Your kidding me right!” looks. The pictured turned out so cute that I decided to make ornament out of them. I printed a bunch with my printer. The I laminated the whole sheet of paper. Cut them out and punched a hole at the top for the hanger.

Then I set up one of my white Christmas trees in the corner of my front porch. It became the “black dog Christmas” tree. I decorated the tree with some other dog ornaments and found this great one with a” J ” for Jet. The ornaments with the red bows printed out in the blue spectrum instead of black, but I like them that way. I loved how this tree came together.

I made the red and black buffalo check with a white deer pillow. Of course there need to be a dog pillow too. Notice the red ball at his feet. Well I dropped black paint there and made it into a red ball. I love happy accidents.

Lastly, I added my new art creation called “Magic in the Forest”. I know it is a lot of blue but it makes me smile. Those aspen trees in the background remind of winters in the mountains.

Here is a cool thing I invested in this year. A foot pad that turns your tree lights on and off. It can be set on the floor or on a table. No more reaching behind the tree to turn off the lights. I purchased three from amazon for the three trees I was using this year.

In the sunroom I created a winter sculpture scene on top of the bookcase. It started with the white Santa that I rescued from a thrift store. Then I strung the lighted garland and added all of my crystal candle holders. I had a lot between the house and the art studio.

Then came the cake stands. This taller one pictured is from my grandmother, and I leave it out all year long in the kitchen.

The crystal moose and bird nest came last for the natural feeling. As you can see when it is dark and lights are on it looks like a ice sculpture. Very magical!

In the living room is my truly rustic tree. I love collecting ornaments that are outside stuff. This one with the tent and the firepit is on of my favorites.

My new additions this year is this white truck and travel trailer. One of my daughters gave me the flowered trailer earlier this year. I thought they worked well together. I call it the travel trailer caravan. My husband loves it because it reminds him of growing up the the country….

My Christmas with this year is that each and everyone of you will have a magical and memory filled holiday season! Also if you have a moment I would love to see some of your fun holiday decorating too. Send me pics at karenjmcclure@msn.com…..Enjoy
