New things at the art studio-As you know Karen’s Place has been open for two years and we have been growing by leaps and bounds.  This year we are concentrating on our classes and have added three new teachers.   So with that in mind we now have a lot of students attending our classes and I realized it was time to expand our classroom a little bit. Figuring out where to expand without loosing my  my art studio space was a challenge. My husband and I put our heads together and came up with a good plan. He is good at looking at how things fit in a room. I am good with what the finished products needs to look like. We decided to remove the south wall of the classroom.  We already knew that it wasn’t a load bearing wall and after peaking inside what a shock to see that this interior wall had insulation in it.   As you can see how much this changed the openness of the whole art studio.  Ray and I worked on this for three days and finished the wood trim on the whole opening yesterday.  We are very proud of how it came out.  Joyfully we were able to spread out our existing tables and added another that sits on the vinyl floor so I can finally do some fabric dying near the sink.  In the process of all this we relocated my sewing machine and the new quilting machine and just plain reorganizing my supplies.  I love how it came out and can’t wait till you all come by and check out the new art studio space!
