New Art Work- A year of creating! Last Thursday I presented my new collection of art quilts at our local quilt guild. I believe it went well. About 35 ladies attended and it was a mixture of new and old guild members. Pat Dailey and Deanna Steel helped me hang each quilt on the display board during my talk. It has been a while since I have talked in front of a crowd, so of course the night before I didn’t sleep well. You know how that feels when you want it to go well and you overthink it to death. LOL. But in the end, it turned out great. We all have moments of uncertainty and then are surprised by the results.
Now I am in the art studio with my new computer and printer ready to open a new chapter in my art journey. I was able to upload all of the quilts from the presentation to my gallery on my website. If you want to see this new collection then go to the artbykaren2.com website.
On the home page, the art quilts button on the right side takes you to the gallery.
Now that you are on the Gallery page just scroll down to view them. There are quite a few so go all the way to the bottom.
In some of my future posts, I will be sharing with you some of the processes I have used to create them.
On October 1st we will start up our “Replies Comment Contest” again. The person who responds to my posts the most will win a prize. This time you can reply as many times as your finger can hit send. Each one will be counted. Just like last time my husband Ray will be drawing the name out of the hat at the end of each month. So looking forward to reading your comments.
Lastly let me know when you view the new pieces in the Gallery which one was your favorite. Thank you so much for being a part of this blog!
How fun! Anxious to see what you share with us.
I enjoyed seeing all your beautiful art quilts at the guild. Thankyou for sharing your story & gift with us.
Audrey took some great photos at the Guild presentation. I hope you like the way I have displayed them in the newsletter.
Thanks Berdena, I can’t wait to see them!
It was wonderful to see you and all your art quilt you shared. I am excited to play with the acrylic paint on my car quilt backing.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
I went to the Gallery. I could not choose a favorite. All of your quilts are beautiful.
Thank you for sharing. Kathleen
Nice to hear from you Kathleen.
The elk in the aspens is still my favorite. I love the fall colors and the irregular bottom edge.
Several others are a close second. I am disappointed that I was not able to attend the Guild meeting to see your Presentation. See you later.
Thanks Darlene, hope your summer has gone well.
