This morning I woke up to a wonderful blanket of snow covering everything outside. My first thought was how glorious it all looked. Then crap, I have to drive in this stuff. A week ago Saturday my husband fell and broke his right leg. At the moment he is wearing a walking boot and he can’t put any pressure on his right foot. So my life as I know it is going to change. I guess I took it for granted just how much he was doing to take care of the laundromat and things around the house.

For instance he is the one who opens and closes the laundromat seven days a week. Amongst other things, but more importantly, he drives me to Twin Falls and back several times a week. I will admit that a few of those trips is to “By The Way Coffee” just north of the golf course on Hwy 93. This artist needs lots of caffeine to create. It is a real luxury for me to have my own personal driver. Now for the next four to six weeks I will be the designated driver.

So this morning, it was time to take a break from my art designs and everything in general. The sun was shinning and a perfect time to take a few pictures of the snow in my yard. I didn’t think I was going to be able to capture any snow pictures this year due to the lack of snow. This was definitely a blessing right in the middle of juggling my life right now. Of course I had to take along Jet, the dog, who is feeling neglected because he isn’t getting any of his long runs. All of these shots I know I can use in a future art project including painting or maybe applique.

The river looks like giant voles are tunneling
Shadows on the snow

One of my favorite things are branches with snow on them

These icicles looked like aliens coming over the roof.
Look at the snow swirling around the bird feeder.
An avalanche on top of the bird house.

Well this is about all I could get before the sun was gone and now it is snowing again. It was time for Jet and I to go into the house and warm up. I hope these pictures inspire you for future art projects. My last picture is Jet begging me to go inside.

It’s time to go Mom!

Enjoy! Feel free to use any of these pictures for your own art projects.
