Well here we are and it is a couple of weeks before all the Christmas stuff. I know it has been a while since my last post and really there has been so much going on that I can’t think of any good excuses. But today the starts of a new quilt appeared on the design wall and I wanted to share how it is going. In my stash was this blue and purple christmas fabric which I rescued from a hand made dress a couple of years ago. I just loved the border print and the blue color. But alas what to do with a 25 x 40 inch piece of border print? It wasn’t a good canidate to cut up into several blocks I decided to treat it like a whole cloth project. Next I felt it needed to be squared up a bit and be under 58 inches wide so that it will fit on my livingroom at home. There is an empty spot right now because all my christmas quilts are hanging in the shop. It’ s a rough life being a shop owner. I wanted to keep it a simple design so those tree would be the focus. I ended up mixing a silver gray paint and stamping the snowflakes across the bottom and there will be a row across the top. Thats about how far I got today and while taking pictures of the new christmas quilt I noticed that it was getting dark and decided to take pictures of the shop from the outside capturing all the magical stuff going on inside. This year I made about 20 snowmen to sell in the shop.
My sister handpainted dog and cat ornaments to go with the handpainted stockings. It is amazing how wonderful it all looks together. Of course there are alot of other great creations made by other Idaho artisians hanging out too. You need to come by and check it out.
